Week 6 EOC: There's an App for That!

We are a mobile generation; a generation always on the go. wherever we are, we want to be productive as well. here is my idea for an app: a suite of productivity apps grouped together for easy access. it is compatible with Microsoft Office, and allows the user to be productive. the suite includes:

  1. A full-function word processor that is compatible with Microsoft Word, Open Office and LibreOffice Writer.
  2. presentation software with all of the functions of Microsoft PowerPoint and other presentation software
  3. a spreadsheet program that is comparable to Excel; and
  4. Cross-platform compatibility. this means that it does not matter what type of computer you use. the files
the cost of this productivity suite is only $0.99. this is a steal, especially if you cannot afford Microsoft Office. this means that everybody can be productive no matter where you are or what type of computer you use.

Amar Mehta
Introduction to the World Wide Web

Tips to Increase Traffic to Your Website
1.      Shameless Self-Promotion- If you don’t promote your website, who will?
2.      Harness the power of social media, Link building and content aggregators- social media sites (Facebook, twitter, Etc.), content aggregators (Technorati is the best one, IMO) and basic link sharing can all drive traffic to your website.
3.      Search Engine Optimization-
4.      Forum groups-forums allow you to target a specific group of people.
5.      Opt-in email- having people give you their email addresses allows you to have a dedicated fan base.

Week 3 EOC: My first youTube Video For class

This was a test video.

This video, from concept to completion, was very spur of the moment. my idea was to do something short and sweet. Jason was the cameraman.  I learned that a test run is important to conduct, especially when you don't know how to do it and what your doing.

Week 2 EOC: anaylisis of healthcare.gov

I find that the Health insurance website https://www.nevadahealthlink.com is a simple website; it does have its share of complications, though. There is too much technical jargon (language that only a current or former government worker can understand). When you are trying to create a website for the unwashed masses, you need to dumb it down; make things as simple as it can be. Asking for information at the beginning is stupid.

Week 1 EOC: My voice

From coding to user interface, I know that every single part of a website needs to be tailored to the specific client. It’s that part of design that really appeals to me. I have seen some bad web design decisions, and I know what works and what doesn't. This means that a website that I build won't be some cookie-cutter website that looks like every other one; my websites are dynamic, eye-catching and easy to use. I pride myself in my work, and it shows. There is no job that I can't handle. It's satisfying to see your work. Web design allows me to be creative, and I love how the end product is seen by people all over the world. It makes me happy. It just seems to come naturally to me. My original plan was to go into IT and IT Security. I wanted to do something more creative, and that led me to Web design. I eat, sleep, drink, dream and bleed Web design. It has become a part of my life now. I can't imagine myself doing anything else; it has completely ingrained itself into me. I don't feel right anymore without it. I chose this because I love it. Nothing will stand in the way of a job well done.
